The Refugee Journalism Project is looking for individuals who are interested in taking part in an initiative that supports journalists who seek to rebuild their professional careers in the UK.

- You will take part in bespoke workshops delivered either by universities or by media organisations.

- All participants will be mentored by an experienced UK journalist.
- You will get the opportunity to publish your work.
- You will receive career’s guidance and workshops.
- You will have the opportunity to apply for postgraduate degree funding at London College of Communication.
- You will become part of an established network of journalists.
In order to meet the eligibility criteria, applicants must:
- Have refugee status, or the right to work in the UK.
- Have an average IELTS of 5.5 (or comparable experience)
- Must be able to attend workshops between October 2018 and September 2019 (the exact dates will be supplied at the start of the course but they will be spread out over the project and include evening and daytime sessions to accommodate childcare and work responsibilities).
- Have experience or qualifications in journalism, communications or media-related areas. We will consider applications from those who have no prior journalistic experience, but who can demonstrate a strong interest in working in the field.
- The majority of workshops will take place in London (for those living in the South East) or Derby (for those in North or Midlands).
